The History Of PANCASILA

The history of the foundational philosophical theory of Indonesia or the five principles (Pancasila) was hold on 29th Mei until 1st of June 1945. The making process of Pancasila was through the process of BPUPKI plenary meetings. This meeting discussed about the fundamental base of indonesia's independence. The making processes of pancasila can not be separated to the ideas of these 3 significant figures, they were Muh. Yamin, Mr Soepomo, and Ir. Soekarno.

In May 29th 1945, Muh. Yamin gave a speech to suggest the five principles, they are:

1. Nationality

2. Humanity

3. Godship

4. Democracy

5. People's welfare

Muh. Yamin stated that the five principles formulated were rooted based on history, civilization, religion, and longstanding state administration. At the end of his speech, Muh. Yamin submitted an appendix to the draft constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. In the preamble and draft section, there is basic formula of the state is.

Then, Mr. Soepomo was also delivering his ideas at 31 May 1945, they are:

1. Unity

2. Submission to God

3. Physical and spiritual balance

4. Deliberation

5. Social justice

Last, at 1st of June 1945 Ir. Soekarno was delivering his ideas, they are:

1. Nationalism

2. Internationalism

3. Consensus of democracy

4. Social welfare

5. Believe in God Almighty

Then, all of these ideas were formulated into 5 principles as we called it Pancasila, the fundamental base of our nation, Indonesia. They are:

1. Belief in the Almighty God

(in Indonesian "Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa")

2. A just and civilized humanity

(in Indonesian "Kemanusiaan yang Adil dan Beradab")

3. A unified Indonesia

(in Indonesian "Persatuan Indonesia")

4. Democracy led by the wisdom in a consensus or representatives

(in Indonesian "Kerakyatan yang dipimpin oleh Hikmat Kebijaksanaan dalam permusyawaratan/perwakilan")

5. Social justice for all Indonesians

(in Indonesian "Keadilan Sosial bagi seluruh Rakyat Indonesia")
